Chemistry 20 is a course which helps students to understand the chemistry principles behind the natural events they experience and the technology they use in their daily lives.  Chemistry is the study of matter and its changes and each unit in Chemistry 20 uses a different context to investigate the nature of the matter and to examine its properties and changes.

This course encourages the development of positive attitudes that support the responsible acquisition and application of knowledge related to science and technology. It incorporates Aboriginal perspectives in order to develop in all students an appreciation of the cultural diversity and achievements of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit peoples.

The three foundational components of science courses: attitudes, knowledge, science, technology and society (STS) as well as skills will be reflected in the learning outcomes of this course.
