Students will learn to perform shampoo and hair treatments in a salon setting. Different types of shampoos and conditioners and their application in the treatment of hair and scalp conditions will be covered as well as brushing and massaging. Students will learn about hair structure, chemistry, growth, and the hair analysis process. They will also study mechanical, environmental, chemical, and thermal damage of hair and be able to describe and treat hair and scalp disorders.
Students will learn to describe and perform basic types of haircuts using various cutting and texturizing techniques. Students will be able to trim and remove facial and nape hair and perform after-cut hairstyling techniques.
