In Developing Algebraic
Thinking Skills, CALP staff will develop an understanding of the skills and strategies
necessary to effectively support adult learners as they learn about and apply understandings
of patterns and relations that lead to algebra. Emphasis will be placed on ways to tools and strategies to support adult learners in the areas of recognizing and analyzing patterns, showing
and representing relationships, translating between mathematical and English
language, reading, and interpreting graphs, creating, and manipulating
mathematical equations and expressions, and problem-solving and quantitative
reasoning skills.
